Over on my Old School blog, I wrote a post about the Old School Drummers News River app, check it out if you are interested in how these apps work.
Gary Teter has posted two neat videos on Twitter of Drumkit code he has written (utility script and turning a set of tweets into a blog post). Gary, please post these scripts on Github so we can all learn from you!
My wife and I watched Annie Live on NBC this week, we both thought it was excellent. The child actors from the orphanage scenes were amazing in their singing and their dancing. NBC has come a long way since their initial start in live drama with “The Sound of Music” several years ago. Several reviews: Deadline, People Magazine, and Yahoo News.
I am collaborating with Alex Johnstone on a new Drummer resource site (awesome-drummer on Github) – check it out! Feel free to submit items to add, and ask questions in the issues area.
I am taking a Udemy training course on Node.js development, and trying out Visual Studio Code because the instructor uses it in the course. Today, I wanted to print something, and found to my dismay that there was no native print function, just like Sublime Text. Why did these people think that users didn’t need to print some text file? Why? I am definitely keeping a copy of Notepad++ around – they know how to print!
With help from Frank McPherson, I made two updates yesterday to my Drummer outline renderer to correct a bug and fix URL link text. If anyone has ideas for other renderers, please create an issue on the Github repo.
I have created a Drummer script to render a two level outline into a web page. See this post on my Old School blog for more info!
