I am resuming coverage of the Portland ICE protests and the Trump Administration actions at Portland Protest News. Please see that site for links to local Portland coverage.

OregonLive.com: Judge will rule by end of Friday or Saturday on Oregon’s push to block Trump’s troop deployment in Portland, Oregon
Someone who does not believe that blogs should have comments has commented on a blog and then blogged about it – hypocrisy?
Dave Winer is collecting posts from John Palfrey and posting them at this site, but the site is not visible, yet Dave is linking to it – can someone tell him about this problem?
Dave Winer – stop telling us what you are going to show in your new stuff, and just show us the beef!
I just found out my hosting service (Bluehost) changed my plan to limit me to 20 websites – ugh! Does anyone have any recommendations for shared hosting with no website limits? Thanks!
Paper Clip Protest
This morning, I read the latest Substack post from Joyce Vance titled “Paper Clip Protest”. Author E. Jean Carroll suggested that people wear paper clips to protest Trump:
“Comely Reader! I suggest we all start wearing the paper clip. Subtler than a red hat, more powerful as a CONNECTION,” she wrote, explaining they were also worn during World War II as a sign of resistance against the Nazis.
I liked the idea very much, and bought a pack of colored paperclips. I am currently wearing a yellow paperclip, but I think orange would be a better contrasting color (also goes with “El Orange”, another term for Trump).
I also have purchased PaperClipProtest.com, and hope to roll out a website soon (as soon as that darn DNS can transfer to my hosting service). Stay tuned for more info!
Let’s be clear about what happened to Jimmy Kimmel
Let’s be clear about what just happened: Jimmy Kimmel, a prominent late-night comedian, was just taken off the airwaves because the Trump administration didn’t like what he had to say — and threatened his employer until they shut him up.
A Prairie Home Companion – First broadcast
While looking for episodes containing appearances by Mavis and Marvin Smiley and the Manhattan Valley Boys on A Prairie Home Companion, I came across a link to the first broadcast – check it out!
This essay by Will Saletan at The Bulwark is an excellent summary of all of the freedoms that Charlie Kirk relied on in his political speech, and if anyone (<cough>Jimmy Kimmel et al<cough>) gets called down for these actions, people need to push back!
